Let me introduce myself:
My name is Jessica Nurse and I am a full time freelance Make-up Artist based in the Midlands. I graduated from University of the Arts London (London College of Fashion) specializing in fashion and editorial make-up design.
I have worked in the industry for over eight years incorporating two years working for boutique style 'B' cosmetics in Covent Garden, London, and two years for renowned make-up company MAC.
Although finding retail a different type of work altogether, these companies turned out to be crucial in my development. Within a couple of years I had worked on every skin tone, texture and type, and with men and women from a variety of backgrounds. Not only did this increase my experience but also my appreciation of different kinds and levels of beauty.
I have worked as a bridal make-up artist (alongside my fashion work) for the last five years. It is very different to my fashion work but equally as rewarding. I enjoy the build up and transformation of the bride when all hair, make-up and dress are complete. I like to incorporate my editorial background into beautiful bridal make-up using cosmetics such as MAC, Make-up Forever and Charles Fox.
My editorial credits include: Asian Woman, Asian Bride, Vision (China), Kerrang, Tony & Guy, Amelias magazine, kismet, FD2D and 69 Degrees Magazines.
I have worked backstage at: London Fashion Week, Warpaint Tradeshow, Salon International, Wella Studios, Gok's Fashion fix and Clothes Show Live.
I also have a keen interest in Body Art and have participated in the World Body Painting Championships held in Austria. For more info and images on this part of my work go to www.jessicanurse.co.uk or check out my Blog for the latest.
